The best sunset spots in Ibiza

From the drum circles of Benirràs to the clifftop tower facing Es Vedrà, these are the island views worth planning an evening around.

Ibiza faces west, which means the whole coast from Sant Antoni to Es Vedrà turns gold for an hour each evening. The trick is choosing your spot — and arriving early enough to park. ## Es Vedrà from Torre des Savinar The 18th-century watchtower above Cala d'Hort looks straight across the water to the magnetic rock of Es Vedrà. Arrive an hour before sunset, bring a cushion for the rocks and stay until the stars appear. It is the island's most photographed view for good reason. ## Benirràs drum circle On the north coast, Benirràs hosts an informal drum circle that plays the sun down, especially on Sundays in season. The bay is backed by pines and guarded by the spiky rock known as the Finger of God. ## Café del Mar, Sant Antoni The original sunset bar, with chilled music and a famous view over the bay. It is busy and not cheap, but it is a rite of passage. Nearby Cala Gració and the rocks below Cap Negret are quieter alternatives. ## Sa Talaia If you want the whole island in one frame, climb to the 475-metre summit before dusk. The view takes in the south coast, the salt flats, Formentera and the dying light all at once. ## Practical tips - Check the exact sunset time — it shifts by more than an hour across the season - Parking fills fast at Cala d'Hort, Benirràs and Café del Mar; aim to arrive 60–90 minutes early - Take a layer: the temperature drops quickly once the sun is gone
